Highlights: We are pleased to announce The Empower You Chronic Pain Foundation Second Annual Conference in San Diego, California.

The conference will consist of national and international leaders in the field of pain management with local Southern California faculty coming together to discuss advances in various chronic pain diagnosis and management in the largest patient facing conference.

Event speakers will share their treatment algorithms on topics such as neck pain, back pain, complex regional pain syndrome, spinal stenosis, and other chronic pain related issues. The event will include session topics, exhibition halls featuring product theaters, workshops to enhance live patient education, and symposiums focused on cutting edge therapy and research.

The meeting will take place in San Diego, CA on October 18-20. Our goal is to present cutting-edge information to patients to empower them to make better healthcare decisions. Though we are seeing an unprecedented focus on new technology development, access to care continues to be one of the largest challenges in the pain management space. We want to tackle that issue on the front lines.

Industry partners and exhibitors are an important part of our meeting’s success and benefit both the attendees and companies who choose to participate. We anticipate up to 300 patients with faculty that are specializing in pain management, interventional pain management, orthopedic surgery, and neurosurgery to attend. Based on the success of our inaugural meeting last year, we are confident that this year will be even bigger and better. We hope you can contribute to our mission.

Program Needs Assessment: The 2024 EY Foundation annual conference is planned as a non-CME activity tailored to chronic pain patients to enable practitioners of pain management to provide insight and direction to chronic pain patients on various aspects of interventional pain management. This will focus on both diagnosis and treatment algorithms around important chronic pain generators faced by patients and treatment clinicians in their practices. EY Foundation’s goal is to enhance patient access and education, allow members to access centers of excellence globally, provide technology education opportunities, and remain the only forum for patient education. In addition to reviewing IPM techniques, guidelines, and emerging technology, the course will provide current information on practice management, research, and advocacy with direct focus on patients from leading faculty globally. We will have workshops and active, live patient education around diaphragmatic breathing and movement techniques to decrease pain.

Faculty: We have a diverse and accomplished faculty representing a number of different specialities under or relevant to the chronic pain space. Get to know the various physicians and providers and the chronic pain space that are a part of session agenda topics and live conference events.

We are in an unprecedented time in history where we have moved from one epidemic to a global pandemic. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic we had a different crisis in the United States that was the opiate crisis. Today we continue to struggle with opiate addiction and alternatives to treatments for chronic pain. Pain affects 50.2 million Americans across the United States and is affecting one sixth of the global population. If we are going to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients then we must empower them with knowledge such that the tenets of this foundation that rests on access, advocacy, community and education are met. Though the pain management space is going through a renaissance, access to care must reach the front lines. Through our free membership, patients get access to special events like this conference, education and resources to improve how you can impact chronic pain. This is our mission!
